Hey everyone,

since I mostly spent my weekend sick at home again I decided to make yet another custom Funko. I’m sure you all know by now that I’m quite obsessed with all things Shadowhunters and that I already made a few Shadowhunter Pops. There are still a few characters left I want to make though, Simon Lewis for instance. I totally forgot how much fun it is to make my own Funko Pops. The hardest thing though is to find Funkos that already look a little like the characters you want to change them into. I almost spent one whole afternoon searching Amazon for the perfect Funkos to make Funko Simon Lewis and thank goodness I found a few which I think are actually pretty perfect.

I got these three guys here, Castiel “Steve” from Supernatural, Kevin from the Ghostbuster Remake and Sam Winchester also from Supernatural.

As you will notice later I took of their heads and mixed their heads and bodies to create perfect Lewis.

I used Castiels head, Sam’s body and Kevin’s glasses which I think fit him pretty perfectly. I chose to make my Simon Funko look more like TV Simon than actual book Simon. Don’t get me wrong, I love book Simon, I even adore him, he’s always been one of my favorite characters from the Shadowhunters Chronicles even though I pretty much love all characters but I really really love the way Alberto Rosende portrays Simon. He’s such a great actor and such a fun person (he’s hilarious actually) also I really love his looks on the show so well, that’s why I wanted to make him more look like TV Simon than book Simon (or movie Simon though whom I also loved by the way).

If you want to know how to take off the head of a Funko there are a lot of youtube videos online so you might just want to search for „How to take off head Funko Pop“ or whatever on youtube. It’s actually pretty easy. Basically all you need to do is heat up some water in the microwave, put the Funkos in it, wait 5 minutes and then just take the head off and glue them back together afterwards. And again I used regular brushes and acrylic paint to paint them.

I really love how little Simon turned out. I really hope they’re making real Shadowhunters Pops soon though.

  1. How creative that you made your own Simon! I am a fellow Mortal Instruments/Shadowhunter fan hehe, so I’m in love with this. Ghostbusters was better than I expected! Kevin was hilarious, and my favorite character!
